I wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team.
thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on.
it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: 20XX olympic games.
now, the dream came true.
as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.
I’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world.
but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high.
i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite.
i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track.
it was horrible.
when i started to run, i was simply out of breath.
and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive.
it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did.
Well, something happened and changed the situation.
we won the right of holding the olympic games in 2015.
after that, sports became a kind of game in campus.
and there are many sports clubs in school.
one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.
“Try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said.
and she goes: “why not? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering.
that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass.
it’s wasn’t popular in china at first.
but when we heard it might become a new event in 2015, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world.
when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles.
you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart.
in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems.
and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower.
so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger.
that is what we say—olympic spirit.
Now the dream came true.
i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports.
so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games.
it’s the olympic games that make us together.
we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports.
we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

ladies and gentlemen,
we engineering students take it for granted that technology is changing incredibly fast. we are thinking nervously and seriously whether our colleges are failing to provide a foundation in the skills currently needed in industry. take my major telecommunications for example. scientists say that 21st century is a biomedical time, not an electrical time. but without the help of electronic data processing and transformation, biomedical technology alone cannot go too far. funny enough, the word biomedical itself is just a combination of two disciplines. so the interdisciplinary exploitation serves as the critical part for our electric and electronics world as well as any other fields to find new way of being.
but the power of knowledge collaboration is certainly not restricted to science and engineering; it is in the full community of learning. walking around campus i absorbed a reality that there is a seamless web between students from different professional backgrounds. the engineering students are discussing animatedly in a philosophy lecture, speaking passionately in the public speaking club, and looking for sparkling ideas from learning history and arts. how wonderful that is! that, ladies and gentleman, is just a significant step forward to be well-rounded because once we jump out of the circle we can see the bigger picture.
my friends, i hope that you have already got what university is all about. please let me end my speech with the nobel prize winner li zhengdao’s words: “the realization of the perfect combination of science and engineering, science and arts, technology and humanity， is the greatest symbol of a university’s success.” thank you.

I love you, China, for I can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. last year, I got an opportunity to visit the united states of america. during my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. while at table, he looked at me and asked： “little boy, how long have you been in america?” “about a month,” I answered, “how lucky you are!” he said, “if you were living in China, how could you learn such perfect english?” I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn english at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “i’m proud of you, China. for you are offering us the best education.”
When I came back from the usa, my friends asked me： “how do you feel about your staying there?” “wonderful” I said. “then why do you come back?” hearing this, I told them there were lots of beautiful countries in the world, but none of them can compare with our own country—China. how true the saying is： “there’s no place like home!”
I love you, China. as a young student, all we should do is to study hard and devote ourselves whole-heartedly in the future, to the great cause of building you into an even stronger and greater country in the world. I love you, my dear motherland! I love you, China!

Peace, development and cooperation are the calls of the time and serve the common interests of people of all countries. At present, the world is moving further towards political multi-polarity and economic globalization while countries are depending more and more on each other. However, the recovery of the world economy is facing growing instability and uncertainty. International and regional hot issues have cropped up one after another. World peace and development are facing new opportunities and challenges. China will continue to follow its diplomatic mission of maintaining world peace and promoting common development, adhere to its independent foreign policy, take the road of peaceful development and implement a strategy of opening up for mutual benefit and win-win situations. It will develop friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries, on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, and actively participate in efforts of the international community in dealing with global issues.
